"Brookside Apts. are great - I've lived here for 2 years. Very small complex - only 72 units. One of the cheapest places around for a 1 bed 1 bath apartment, and one of the nicest places I've lived in Ann Arbor (lived here for 7 years). Water and heat are included in rent - that in itself is worth renting here. My DTE bill has never been more than $30/mo. Maintenance is quick and reliable - usually fixed same day, next day at the latest. The only complaint that I have is that the show apartment I saw had a dishwasher, but the current apartment I live in does not. The walls are kind of thin, but I've never found that to be a problem as my neighbors are very respectful. Strict no pet policy - however I asked and they let me bring my boyfriend's dog over."
Brookside apartments is a fantastic place to live. Having a unit right on the water has been a very enjoyable experience. The community is quiet and friendly. The neighborhood is scenic and there's a lot around (hint: Northside Grill is the best place to walk to for breakfast!). It's very close to North Campus and the hospitals.
The main attraction here is the brook, and with that the wildlife. There's plenty here for nature lovers -- cranes, squirrels, lots of ducks (with ducklings around mid-May to June), woodchucks, colorful birds, deer, and more. If you're a nature lover, I would highly recommend looking at Brookside.
It's nice knowing that my rent isn't going to a corporation that disregards its tenants. Management here is always top notch. My issues have always been resolved within a day -- most of the time, someone is at the apartment within the hour to help out.
I thoroughly enjoyed my years at Brookside Apartments.

Honestly for us the space became small because there were 3 of us living there and I was pregnant. It's actually a really great place to live. The bedrooms are spacious and I love the open kitchen. The little Creek and landscape is really beautiful especially from the balconies. I think the best part though is the owner/management and his team. We lived there last year and they were so handy, very prompt in fixing things, and always kind. Probably the best service I've ever had living in a managed place. 10/10 would recommend, the only reason we moved is because we had a baby and got a puppy.

"I lived here for a year and just loved it. The rent is one of the cheapest in North Campus and includes water and heat. The only thing one is responsible for is electricity (30$ a month max). Each apartment has assigned parking as well as has parking for visitors. Is very close to Kroger (1.5 miles), and walking distance to the medical school as well as other Depts. on N. Campus. Bus stop is right in front of the Apartment complex. Had no issues living here, the place was well maintained. The only reason I left is because is graduated. Wish i had found this place earlier, would have had saved a lot of money from crappy places. Would like to write something negative, but cannot think of anything. Highly recommended."

"My boyfriend and I lived at Brookside and I wish that I could stay here. The complex is so beautiful that it was a joy to look out my window. Although I didn't have a lot of problems with the apartment, the maintenance was awesome and there was someone outside every day, either shoveling or mowing and available to talk to if something does come up. The neighborhood was quiet and polite and for living on the 1st floor, I didn't have any issues with noise. The management is super nice and accommodating and the fact that you don't pay utilities is awesome! I wish that I could just pick up Brookside and move it to where ever I have to move next!"
